Colleen Gray manages B&G’s commercial and civil litigation practice. As a seasoned litigator in all aspects, Colleen focuses on contract litigation, business litigation, foreclosure defense, and all areas of real estate litigation.
Colleen earned her bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and law degree from New York Law School. After law school, she investigated and prosecuted age discrimination as a Public Service Graduate Fellow with the New York State Division of Human Rights.
In her law career, she worked for a high-volume litigation firm in Queens before taking a position with Bondi, Iovino & Fusco, in Garden City. While there, she honed her skills in real estate and commercial litigation and remains Of Counsel to their partners.
Colleen founded Bernstein & Gray with partner Heidi Bernstein in 2018. As a well-rounded advocate for the B&G team, Colleen has successfully prosecuted and defended breach of contract, business divorce and dissolution cases. In real estate, she serves all parties to real estate litigation, including cancelled or breached transactions, partition actions, constructive trusts, and quiet title actions. Colleen has successfully litigated both sides of mechanics liens foreclosures and construction cases, commercial and residential. In her foreclosure defense work, Colleen defends homeowners and/or debtors against mortgage foreclosure claims, helping clients save their homes while guiding them through the entire litigation process.
Today, Colleen is an active member of the Long Beach community. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations. She has been recognized as a Rising Star by Thomson Reuters Superlawyers from 2017 – 2023. She is also a member of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce and serves in a Leadership role with the Long Beach Chapter of Business Network International.
